5 THINGS YOU CAN’T MISS AT THE 2022 CALGARY STAMPEDE

Hustle. That’s the only word that can describe how the Calgary Stampede works. Whether you’re a part of it or just a casual onlooker, this gigantic event is one of the most high-intensity festivals out there!

From concerts to food to rodeos, you’re sure to have a great time. 

Here are the 5 things you do not want to miss at the 2022 Calgary Stampede! 

The Calgary Stampede Powwow

When: July 12 – 14, 2022, from 3 pm to 6 pm

Price: pay for admission to Stampede Park

Where: 555 Saddledome Rise S.E., Calgary, AB

The Saddledome will be hosting a giant Powwow competition this year with $175,000 in prize money. Indigenous dancers, drummers, and singers from across Canada and the United States are invited to participate.

 

The Elbow River Camp

Elbow River Camp on the Stoney Nakoda First Nation reserve is hosting a celebration of cultures from the Kainai, Piikani, Siksika, Stoney Nakoda and Tsuut’ina First Nations of Treaty 7. Guests can view traditional tipis, watch traditional crafts demonstrations and taste authentic native foods.

 

The Super Wheel

Price: pay for admission to Stampede Park & the ride coupons start from $20 for 22 coupons.

When: July 8 – 17, 2022

The Super Wheel is the largest travelling Ferris wheel in North America, 150 feet high. As you soar over Stampede Park, you’ll get a unique view of the Stampede skyline. A treat for all you adventurous heroes out there!

 

The Evening Show

Price: Tickets start from $51 per person and include entry to Stampede Park.

When: July 8 – 17, 2022

Come see the chuckwagon races, followed by song and dance numbers, acrobatics and fireworks every night at 7:45 pm.

 

The Dog Bowl

Price: pay for admission to Stampede Park

When: July 8, 9, 11, 12, 14 to 17, 2022 at 11:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. July 10 and 13, 2022 at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Dog lovers can watch their canine companions perform in various sporting events at the Dog Bowl. Which features competitions such as agility poles, frisbee and dancing. And don’t forget to bring your dog along!
